KMI Water was formed in 2002 specifically to meet the ever-increasing demands of the UK water sector. The organisation evolved into KMI+ in 2005 to deliver part of United Utilities’ £400million AMP4 Capital Programme. The parent companies of KMI+ (Kier Group PLC, J Murphy and Sons, Interserve Project Services Ltd and Mouchel) have a combined annual turnover in excess of £2.3 billion, giving us the financial strength, skills, and resources necessary to execute water projects of any size or nature. However, KMI+ operates virtually autonomously having set up its own Integrated Management System and processes. What differentiates KMI+? A Behavioural Safety campaign which has significantly contributed to achieving an accident frequency rate of zero in April 2008. One of the most joined-up training packages being delivered in the industry; from foundation degrees to apprentice training and in-house accredited NVQs. A directly employed workforce of almost 100 and a worker retention rate far better than the industry norm. True supply chain integration where suppliers are actively encouraged to be part of the construction team to add value and innovation. A collaborative approach to design and construction, where team building starts first and value engineering continues throughout the life of the project.
